Doctor's Surgery, Herstmonceaux, Sussex We worked with architect Dil Green on the construction of this new doctor's surgery built on a greenfield site in Herstmonceux, Sussex. TThe brief was for a new doctors surgery for the village, to be as sustainable as possible. We carried out all services design as well as providing sustainability advice to the design team. Key features were very efficient thermal envelope, daylighting study which highlighted the need for rooflights to the inner parts of the surgery together with opening sections to remove high level warm air, mechanical ventilation with heat recovery, biomass heating and hot water system, underfloor heating. School Extension Client Coloma Convent Girls School, Croydon Approximate value £800k. We provided sustainability advice and carried out all mechanical and electrical design. The project included LED lighting with automatic switch off and dimming, together with underfloor heating from condensing boilers. Completed November 2014
NHS Trust Headquarters resilient power supply The Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust relocated their headquarters into an existing office building and required their essential business functions to be suppported by a standby generator. We designed a solution which transferred the essential services to a new switchboard, and supported it with a 400kVA packaged generator. Completed June 2011
Housing Estate Catalyst Housing appointed us to design the mechanical and electrical services for 12 small houses on a new estate in Slough. As with all social housing low cost is essential, and we were able to deliver an effective design, whilst ensuring that the planning condition to achieve Code for Sustainable Homes Level 3 was achieved. NHS Trust Heating and Hot Water We were asked to provide an additional boiler and HWS plate heat exchanger to a residence for vulnerable adults in Epsom, Surrey. A low cost solution, which used three boilers to provide N+1 resilience to the heating and hot water circuits while ensuring that boilers could operate at the most efficient part of their cycle was achieved by means of a link between primary heating and HWS circuits.
Tropical Fish Farm Client Neil Hardy Aquatica, Surrey We provided a concept design and energy advice for a tropical fish farm. Key features included underfloor heating coupled with ground source heat pumps for a very efficient heating system, coordination of the underfloor heating system with other services in the floor such as drainage and water circulation systems, daylighting to promote good working conditions and ideal fish breeding conditions.
Air Conditioning Inspections We have carried out air conditioning inspections to a large number of hospitals and university campuses over the last five years. Our "can do" attitude has enabled us to work with our clients to deliver compliant reports with minimal input from the client organisation at minimal cost. Status; Ongoing
We regularly provide design services to a maintenance consultancy. We are regularly asked to design replacements for large chiller plants. For this we provide a complete service, specifying builders works, craneage operations and plant supporting structures. Where we can, we take the opportunity of making improvements to the piping arrangements to improve efficiency. Status; Ongoing
